Chaucer was born in 1340.
He was born in London.
He was connected with the royal court in London.
He was taken prisoner in France.
The Canterbury Tales was almost certainly based on Boccaccio’s Decameron.
Chaucer began writing it when he was about forty years old.
He hadn't finished writing it when he died in 1400.
The place he was buried in in Westminster Abbey is known as Poet’s Corner.
